These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of our website and to the purchase and participation in Spanish language classes and other services provided by Spanish Learning Journey.
By booking a class, purchasing a package, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. We encourage you to read them carefully before booking or purchasing any service, so that you understand how our classes, bookings, payments, cancellations, and other services work.
1. About Spanish Learning Journey
Spanish Learning Journey is a Spanish language school operated by Sandra Victoria Buesaquillo Zapata, offering online and in-person Spanish language instruction, and based in Medellín, Colombia.
2. General
- Spanish Learning Journey offers private and group Spanish classes, both online and in person, for levels A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
- Before enrolling in any of our services, students must complete an interview with one of our teachers. This helps us assess their Spanish level and better understand their learning goals, so we can recommend the most appropriate class or service.
- Our school welcomes students of all ages. For students under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree and accept these Terms & Conditions on the student’s behalf.
- Please note that Spanish Learning Journey is a non-formal education school. We do not issue student visas or provide official certification for the DELE or SIELE exams.
Below, you will find the specific terms and conditions that apply to each service.
3. Spanish classes offer
3.1. Private online Spanish classes
Classes are delivered through Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams
Each class may last 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 120 minutes
3.1.1. Private in-Person Spanish Classes
In-person classes take place in El Poblado or Laureles in Medellín, Colombia. The exact location may be agreed upon between the student and Spanish Learning Journey before the class.
3.2. Group online Spanish Classes
If a student feels that their assigned level is not the right fit, they may request a reassessment by contacting us at admin@spanishlearningjourney.com. We will arrange a follow-up assessment with another teacher to review the student’s placement and determine whether a different level would be more appropriate.
Maximum number of students: 5
Minimum number of students: 2
3.3. Survival Spanish / Spanish for One Day
Survival Spanish is designed as a short-term learning experience. It is not intended to represent a complete Spanish language course or guarantee fluency or a specific level of proficiency.
3.4. DELE and SIELE Preparation
Our DELE and SIELE preparation services are intended to help students prepare for the examination. However, Spanish Learning Journey does not guarantee that a student will pass the DELE or SIELE examination or obtain a particular score or certificate.
The student is responsible for registering for the DELE or SIELE examination, paying any examination fees, meeting registration deadlines, and complying with the official examination requirements.
4. Cancellation, Rescheduling and No-shows Policy
Our cancellation and rescheduling rules are intended to provide reasonable flexibility while also respecting the time reserved by our teachers.
4.1. Cancellation by the Student
Students may cancel or request to reschedule a class by contacting us at admin@spanishlearningjourney.com, or via WhatsApp at +57 3028563398 at least 18 HOURS before the scheduled start time.
When the required notice is provided, the student may reschedule the class subject to teacher availability.
If a student does not attend the scheduled class and has not joined within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time, the class will be considered a no-show and will not be eligible for rescheduling.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 18 hours before the scheduled class are also non-refundable and may not be rescheduled.
In the event of an unexpected situation or force majeure that prevents the student from attending the class, the class credit will be kept available and can be used to schedule the class for another time, subject to availability.
4.2 Late Arrival
If a student arrives late, the class will generally end at the originally scheduled time.
4.3 Cancellation or reschedule by Spanish Learning Journey
If we need to cancel or reschedule a class we will do it 18 hours prior to the scheduled time. If it’s due to teacher illness, technical problems, emergencies, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the class, provide another qualified teacher, or provide another reasonable solution.
5. Prices and Payments
All prices displayed on our website are stated in USD (United States Dollars)
As payment methods we use Remitly, Wise, Worldremit, Xoom, or Paypal.
6. Refunds
Payments for classes and packages are non-refundable once the purchase has been completed. If you are unable to attend a scheduled class, we will be happy to help you reschedule it, subject to our cancellation and rescheduling policy, and availability.
If you decide not to continue with your lessons, any unused class credits are non-refundable. However, you will have up to 12 months from the date of purchase to use any remaining credit, subject to our booking and rescheduling policies.
7. Class Packages and Credits
If you purchase a package containing multiple classes, the package includes the number of classes specified at the time of purchase.
Number of classes you may purchase: 5 hours, 10 hours or 20 hours
Validity period: 12 months from the date of purchase.
When you purchase your first package, we will provide you with access to a shared Google sheet where your completed classes and remaining class hours are recorded. You can check this information at any time and contact us if you have any questions or believe there is a discrepancy.
Unless otherwise stated:
- Packages are intended for the student who purchased them.
- Classes may not be transferred to another person without our prior approval.
- Unused classes after the expiration date EXPIRE
- Package classes are subject to our cancellation and rescheduling rules.
8. Teacher Changes and Substitutions
If we need to assign a different qualified teacher due to illness, emergencies, scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances, we will make reasonable efforts to provide a teacher with appropriate qualifications and experience for the service purchased.
Students may also request to change their teacher at any time. We will do our best to accommodate such requests, subject to teacher availability and scheduling.
A teacher change does not automatically entitle the student to a refund, provided that we continue to offer the service purchased.
9. Student Responsibilities and Conduct
Students are expected to behave respectfully toward teachers and other students.
We reserve the right to end a class or suspend access to our services in cases of serious or repeated misconduct, subject to applicable law.
10. Privacy and Personal Data
We may collect and process personal information necessary to provide our services, process payments, communicate with students, manage bookings, and operate our website.

11. Learning Outcomes
Spanish language learning is influenced by many factors, including the student’s starting level, attendance, participation, independent practice, exposure to Spanish, and individual learning circumstances.
Although we aim to provide high-quality instruction and support our students’ progress, we do not guarantee:
- A specific level of Spanish within a particular period;
- Fluency within a particular period;
- A particular academic or professional outcome;
- A particular DELE or SIELE score or result.
